As you'll learn, this is far more about how Jack feels about it than with any other relationship in the game. At the end of the conversation, you'll want to pick "I'm staying right here" to continue the Romance. Here you'll find out why Jack is so abrasive about the idea of a relationship with you. You can technically pick "You don't sound convinced", but this greatly confuses Jack and that may not be what you want to have happen.Īt this stage, pick "I want to talk about us" at the start of the conversation, then avoid picking "Never mind".
Here, pick "I'm interested" and avoid picking "Agreed. The First Stage truly begins in your next conversation. At first however things transpire as normal in the aftermath of her Loyalty Mission you should avoid picking the lower-right options on the Dialogue Wheel so that you don't upset her. If you declined casual sex with Jack after first talking with her aboard the Normandy, then you can go for a more serious relationship after completing Jack's Loyalty Mission. If you want to pursue a serious relationship, you need to choose one of the other two options instead.
HOWEVER, Jack will then refuse to talk to Shepard aboard the Normandy for the rest of the game, having concluded that it's all you wanted her for. If you pick "Yes, I want you", you'll have a sexual encounter with her. When you conclude by picking "We'll talk again", she'll ask why Shepard is trying to get to know her and suggests that it's only so he can have sex with her. After you first recruit her in Dossier: The Convict, you can pick "I want to talk" to get to know her. The very first "romantic" opportunity you have is in your third conversation with her before getting her Loyalty Mission. Jack is also involved in a fight with Miranda, and your choice there can sever a Romance with her if you pick the wrong option. Notably however, you can have a sexual encounter with Jack before then, but it's considered a Fling and WILL lock you out of any further interactions with her on the Normandy.
